£1,000 drugs seized in second day of raids
POLICE seized drugs with a street value of £1,000 during the second day of a dedicated police operation dubbed Operation Blaze.
Up to 40 police officers raided homes in New Street, Church Street and Foxhole Road and made a further four arrests of people suspected of being involved in the drugs trade.
DI Dave Thorne from Torquay CID explained that a 36-year-old woman was arrested in New Street, a 55-year-old man was arrested in Church Street and a 36-year-old woman and 46-year-old man were arrested in Foxhole Road (below) during the latest round of intelligence led raids designed at disrupting street level drugs markets in the resort.
All four are currently being questioned by police in connection with alleged drugs offences.
"We seized drugs, believed to be heroin, with an estimated value of £1,000. It is a substantial seizure.
"These drugs could have ended up on the streets in the next few days and the idea of this operation is to target the harm caused by those who deal class A drugs," explained DI Thorne.
