TWO men were arrested and more than £15,000 of drugs were seized in Brixham following a series of police raids yesterday.

Five properties were targeted in raids across the town which netted thousands of pounds of suspected heroin, methadone, cocaine, crack cocaine, cannabis and magic mushrooms.
Also seized by officers were drugs paraphernalia and hydroponics equipment.
Sixteen officers were involved in the raids, codenamed Operation Wallington, including the tactical aid group from Ashburton, the operations support team based in Torquay and Brixham neighbourhood team support officers and special constables.
Officers were briefed by Brixham neighbourhood beat manager Dave Thomas, who led the operation as part of Not In My Neighbourhood Week.
Two properties were simultaneously hit between 8.30am and 9.30am, including a flat at Windmill Hill where officers seized a large haul of suspected drugs including a compressed bag of cannabis with a street value of £4,000, £3,000 of heroin, £2,000 of crack cocaine and quantities of methadone and cocaine.
A 50-year-old man from Glasgow has been arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis and heroin.
The raid led to another property at Briseham Road being searched and a 19-year-old Brixham man being arrested for suspected possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs.
The morning raids also saw police smashing through the door of a flat in Bolton Street under a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant where they found a small quantity of what is thought to be cannabis and dried magic mushrooms, a set of scales and cannabis stalks seeped in a bottle of vodka.
A 19-year-old Brixham man is due to be interviewed on suspicion of possession of the drugs.
In the afternoon, officers simultaneously executed warrants at Nelson Road and seized what they believe to be three cannabis plants and a quantity of herbal cannabis.
A 19-year-old Brixham man found at the house is to be interviewed on suspicion of cultivating and possession of cannabis.
More drugs thought to be cannabis was found in a house at Alma Road.
A 19-year-old Brixham man received an £80 fixed penalty fine.
PC Thomas said: "We are very pleased with four successful, positive warrants.
"It's a good example of different police departments working together."
Brixham sergeant Dave Casley added: "This is a message to the residents of Brixham we are determined to keep the port a safe place to live, and if you are involved we will be on your backs and will continue to be on your backs on a regular basis."

“The main reason cannabis is still illegal is public opinion, the politicians want the votes so they listen to the people, but why do the people think cannabis is bad, because the government tell them its bad! Do you see how we are manipulated by the powers that be. Do your own research!!”

“All praise to the police involved, but lets remember that all too often justice isn't done to stop this continuing. £80 fine, "interview later in the week", community service and drug rehab.... hmm... Good day's work for the police? Or waste of time and paperwork?
Lets remember the other people involved who have no choice. Firstly the parents of these youngsters caught up in bad company and bad habbits, sometimes your children think they know best but have no idea of the impact on them and their remaining good family. The picture of the bed in this article was bought and put together by a very caring and loving father... only to be seen thrown apart in this picture for obvious reasons i know. What about the landlord who has to repair the damage of a broken in door who had no idea his tennant would cause so much trouble. The reality of it is a young naive youngster taken advantage for wanting to be popular and for being nice. The impact on some of the people involved in this article is heartbreaking.. mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters. And seeing all this reported as though its just another brixham drugs raid is so black and white. Life isnt black and white when there's the love from a good family of a mislead teenager as many of you parents will understand.”

“Too little i'm afraid.. They must be laughing at the police. An £80 fine is an insult. I dread to think of the cost this raid has amounted to. When will there be a no tolerance policy. The country is too soft. The fine will ultimatley be paid by us as i'm quite sure the 19yr old in question is not working and has no desire to. Why would he when he can sell drugs for a living and on the odd accassion get an £80 fine !!”
