INDIAN physicist, philosopher, feminist and environmental activist Vandana Shiva will be hosting an open evening in Totnes as she speaks on the subject of 'After Copenhagen: Opportunities and Challenges'.

Vandana will be arguing that we don't need credit, capital and chemicals but GM-free, chemical-free and debt-free agriculture to solve the triple crisis heading our way.

She will be speaking at the Totnes Methodist Church in Fore Street at 8pm tomorrow for an evening organised jointly by Transition Town Totnes and Dartington's Schumacher College.

The open evening is running alongside a Schumacher course where Vandana is teaching along with a number of other experts.

AN EXHIBITION of work by five Devon artists is on show at the Ariel Centre in Totnes.

'Scratching the Surface' has been put together by artists Heidi Archer, Sarah Morgan, Emily Parr, Alex Watkins and Caroline Wightman.

Their work includes hand printed linocuts, collagraphs, drypoint etchings, oils and ceramics.

The exhibition opened last Monday at The Gallery and will continue until next Friday.

AWARD-WINNING folk artist Jackie Oates will be performing at Dartington's Great Hall on Saturday.

She will be presenting work from her latest album Hyperboreans at the concert which kicks off at 8pm.

PAGAN beliefs is the subject of the monthly talk hosted by the Totnes and District Inter Faith Forum on Thursday.

The talk, entitled Pagan Paths, will be given by Ian Jamison at the Totnes Quaker Meeting House in Ticklemore Street, Totnes, starting at 7pm.

THE TOTNES Traffic and Transport Forum is holding its annual meeting at the Dart-Totnes Rowing Club headquarters at Longmarsh, Totnes at 7pm on Wednesday, March 10.

The forum is a non-elected working group under the umbrella of the Totnes and District Community Strategy Group and Transition Town Totnes.
