Appeal for information after Paignton railway station incident

BRITISH Transport Police officers today released a photograph of a man they wwant to talk to following an incident at Paignton railway station.

Investigating officer Sergeant Paul Curtis said: “The train manager on board the 2034hrs Paignton-Exmouth service on August 6 was checking tickets when he encountered a passenger who did not have a valid ticket for travel.

“The train manager informed the passenger he would have to leave the train but the man became abusive and threatening towards him.

“The passenger eventually left the train but began banging on the train windows and continued threatening the train manager as the service left the station.

“After reviewing CCTV images and speaking to witnesses, I would now like to speak to the man in this photograph as I believe he will have information which can assist this investigation.

“He is described as a white man in his thirties and was travelling with a Doberman-type dog.

“If you recognise the man in the photograph, or have any information about the incident, then please get in touch.”
