A DISABLED amateur photographer from Torquay is appealing for help after her camera containing prized picture memories of the Olympics was lost or stolen.

Clare Spooner, 45, was on her way home after taking pictures of a local skittle club in action when the Kodak digital camera went missing.

She thinks the device probably slipped out of her bag either in the taxi which took her home or before she reached her front door in Helens Mead Road in Barton.

Clare later contacted the taxi firm but they could find no trace of the camera.

Members of the Torquay Beer and Wine Makers skittles club searched the Boot & Laces club in Plainmoor where she had been earlier that evening, but the camera could not be found.

Now she is appealing for anyone who may have picked up the camera to let her know.

Clare, 45, who suffers from severe rheumatoid arthritis and is confined to a wheelchair, said: "I am devastated.

"I don't care about the camera as such, I just want the card with the photos on.

"It has photos of Rebecca Adlington in the 800m swimming final and of my niece's birthday.

"In fact, all of my photos are on there because I haven't taken them off. There are about 800 or 900.

"I've searched everywhere it might have been but can't find it."

The camera went missing on Friday, August 17 between 10pm and 11.30pm.
