Newton Abbot artist Kat wins iPad
A COOMBESHEAD Academy student is celebrating winning an iPad after coming second in a national art competition.
Katherine Edwoods (pictured), who is in year nine, entered the contest run by the Constitutional Monarchy Association, with the theme of the Queen's diamond jubilee.
Known to her friends and family as Kat, she was encouraged to get involved in the contest by her art teacher Sian Rogers.
Those who entered had to depict how they saw the Queen in her jubilee year.
As well as winning the iPad, Kat will go to Windsor with her parents to receive the award next month .
"Kat is a very talented student who always produces excellent artwork and is a pleasure to teach, we are very proud of her," said Mrs Rogers.
