Labradors Quirky and Bruno 'walked' the women down the isle and were ring bearers, looking after the bands symbolising their love in pouches on their collars.

Emma said: "It was a great day. Dogs and owners took part in the ceremony, plus more doggy friends came along for the evening do so we had about 25 or so there with no problems."

Lynsey and Emma's 'bridesmaids' were Oddie, the couple's cocker spaniel, and Ella, a dog that is part of the Sensible Dogs pack.

"All dogs were extremely well behaved and enjoyed the day," Emma said.

The happy couple went on to spend a week in the Lake District accompanied, of course, by their three dogs.
