BAY army cadets have raised more than £1,000 for Help The Heroes.

Will Clothier, Josh Langdon and Lee Johnson, cadets with the Torquay detachment of the Devon Army Cadets raised the cash during one weekend with a fundraising stall at the Union Square shopping centre, Torquay.

The money had gone to the charity which aims to help those who have been wounded in Britain's current conflicts.

The three young cadets were spotted raising money and nominated for police MOTIV8 certificates.

Motiv8 is a police reward scheme which recognises young people for doing something good within their community.

The cadets based at Shiphay Manor Drive were presented with their awards by PC Ruth Le Messurier and PC Emma Kendrick, from the Youth Intervention Team.

Torquay detachment parades Monday and Wednesday nights, 7pm to 9pm.
