stinadreama Welcome to Plainmoor, Craig Easton :) !! Ling thinks he could be our fittest player but I suspect Manse'll see that as a challenge!
NickJudd78 Pleased for @craig8easton, secured his move to #tufc Nice move to Devon!
"Craig came here on trial for a fortnight toward the end of last season and I always knew there was a player in him because I'd worked with him for two years," said Martin Ling.
"I just wanted to find out if he was still fit because of his age but I always felt his fitness would be fine. He was the fittest player I had at Orient and I am sure that will be the same at Torquay.
"He was very unlucky last season. He had been the Southend captain the season before and they then offered him a reduced wage, so Craig opted to find a new club.
"He moved to Dunfermline in the Scottish Premier League on a six-month deal but picked up an injury toward the end of that contract, so he has spent the last few months chomping at the bit.
"I know he is the ideal type of character for our squad. He was a massive part of my successful time at Orient and played a big role in our good Cup runs and the promotion to League 1, when he was a mainstay in my centre-midfield.
"He was nigh on Player of the Season that year and I just know that I can trust him. He is a firm and solid character, who can come into our way of playing.
"It toughens up our midfield and makes selection in that area more difficult. Lee Mansell, Damon Lathrope and Eunan O'Kane were the obvious choices last year and Craig will stiffen up the competition in midfield."
