Babbacombe features in new coastal walks programme
Babbacombe's imposing coastal landscape has been chosen by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) as having some of the most interesting and diverse geography to explore in the UK.
The area features as part of a project and website - Discovering Britain - which aims to explain the stories behind the UK's built and natural landscapes through a series of self-led geographical walks.

The walk looks at the dramatic coastline of steep cliffs and hidden coves, as well as the evidence showing significant earth movements and the powerful forces of nature.
Walkers will explore the tremendous diversity of rocks found along the coast and see where rocks were taken away by day and drugs were brought in by dead of night. They will also learn of the genteel Victorians with their bathing machines and the modern adventure sport of coasteering.

The walk along Babbacombe's coastline - ‘Coves and Cliffs' - is a self-guided walk that starts at Anstey's Cove Road car park and ends at Babbacombe Cricket Club. It is 3 miles long and family friendly. It's free to download, complete with a map and audio commentary to accompany you on your journey.
