TORBAY Hospital's Heartsease garden is to be re-dedicated on October 15.

The Heartsease garden was established as a special place for remembering babies who have been lost during pregnancy or in the early days or months of life.

The name comes from the wild pansy, or Heartsease, which is traditionally used to symbolise the pain of separation from a loved one.

Situated behind the Women's Health Unit, families can choose to have a plaque mounted in the garden or use it as a peaceful place to sit and think.

The recent refurbishment of the garden has created additional space for plaques to ensure future generations continue to benefit from it.

There will be a short service of re-dedication at 3pm in the garden followed by refreshments.

All who are interested in the garden, and especially those who have used it in the past, are welcome to come along.
