Bad weather holds off as villagers enjoy fayre
THERE was plenty of family fun at the Staverton Fayre despite a weekend of rain.
Visitors enjoyed everything from classic cars to craft stalls and games at the one-day annual event.

Organisers said it was wet but the rain held off long enough for the event not to be a wash out.
Many visitors travelled to the Staverton Elizabethan Fayre in style by steam train before completing the short walk to the village green where the fayre was being held.

Music was provided by a ceilidh band, The Old Gaffers singing Sea Shanties and Shuffle the Deck, with entertainment for the children from the ever-popular Elfic the Jester, Punch and Judy, Wizz Bang, a bouncy castle and face painting.
Food and drink was provided by Landscove School, Riverford Farm and Bays Brewery.
One organiser said: "It went well despite the poor weather. It helps raise funds for the local churches and school, clubs and other organisations."
