CONDITIONS for the Exeter Head held on the Exeter Canal were ideal with little wind to affect times.

The head was split between Seniors and Juniors, each divided into two divisions to allow doubling up with the juniors racing over 2000 metres and the seniors.

A Men's Senior C eight from the University of Exeter finished in 13 minutes 13 seconds to win the first division for Seniors.

A Torquay Men's Senior C quadruple scull of Rus Bammens, Nick Cleasby, Ian Wilson and Mike Cresser and the Dart Totnes Men's Senior C double scull of Ed Burnett and Martin Burridge - who did both divisions - tied for sixth fastest in 13.59.
