BASKETBALL players from Plymouth Raiders joined pupils at Paignton Community and Sports College to help an anti-bullying campaign.

As anti-bullying week drew to a close two basket ball players, DeAntoine Beasley and James Noel, and coach, Gary Stronach, from Plymouth Raiders watched some inter-school matches.

After the games Gary, DeAntoine and James talked about the importance of respect for others on and off the court.

They also spoke about the significance of education even if your future is a career in sport.

Students who took part thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Girls basketball team member Catherine Buswell, said: "I learnt more about having respect for others while on the court."

Kim Bate, head of Year 11 at Paignton Community College said: "I think I was just as excited as the students when I heard some of the Plymouth Raiders team were coming to the school. I was impressed by the university degrees the players had."

The school hopes a similar event will be held next year.
