Ben's up for a Mercury Prize
TOTNES singer-songwriter Ben Howard has been short-listed for one of the biggest prizes in music.
The performer is on the shortlist for the 2012 Barclaycard Mercury Prize for the best albums of the year.
Ben said: "The band and I have toured and toured and we're really humbled to the reactions to the songs this year .
"We're absolutely stoked to be shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize."

The prize provides a snapshot of the year in music, recognising artistic achievement across a range of genres.
He has been nominated for his debut album Every Kingdom, which was part-recorded by the 25-year-old in his home county.
Born in London, he moved to Totnes as a child and went to school at KEVICC in Totnes and at Torquay Boys Grammar School.
His top 10 gold selling album was released in October 2011 on Island Records and includes the singles The Wolves and Only Love.
The overall winner will be announced on November 1.
Bookies William Hill have made Plan B and Richard Hawley joint 4/1 favourites. Ben Howard is currently 8/1.
