SINCE buying the Lincombe Hall Hotel in 2009 Brett and Joanne Powis have completely refurbished its 44 bedrooms, bathrooms, lounges, restaurant, both swimming pools, and converted two apartments along with extensive maintenance.
As a three star hotel in Torquay it aims for exceptional service, akin to a quality boutique hotel but with the benefits of extensive facilities and services.
Mr Powis said: "We are completely chuffed. Really pleased.
"All the effort that we have put into it has been worth it.

"Our secret, I think, is we looked at the hotel with fresh eyes. We have great staff who all work extremely hard, we have a great team now," said Mr Powis.
"It is really great news and excellent to share with them."
Mrs Powis said: "This summer has been unbelievable considering the weather.
"Better than last year, hugely better, and this award has capped it all off. It is so, so great. The family will be delighted."
