Big switch on for Trago solar panels

WHAT is claimed to be the largest roof-mounted solar panel array in Northern Europe is being officially switched on in South Devon

The array at Trago Mills near Newton Abbot comprises an investment in excess of £2million by the family shopping and leisure park.

Dignitaries from as far away as Germany are gathering for the special switch-on event on today.

Among those expected to attend are the leader of Teignbridge Council, Cllr Jeremy Christophers, Trago Mills Group chairman Bruce Robertson plus members of Trago Mills' board of directors.

Also attending will be Scott McDaniel, of panel manufacturers SolarWorld, and Steve Frost and Ross Northcott of Devon Eco Energy, which carried out the installation.

The solar panels are not visible from ground level and took a month to fit.

    “I was under the impression businesses paid for advertising. Trago Mills is a blight on Devon hardly something to be proud of - their sharp practices around so many issues appear to be conveniently forgotten.
    It will be a good day when Trago and the disgusting boy sling their hook.”
