Bodmin extend their lead at the top
Bodmin Town manager Darren Gilbert was not at Bovey Tracey on Saturday but that did not prevent his side securing a 4-2 victory that opened up a nine-point gap at the top of the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Premier Division.
Gilbert was in the West Midlands watching Gornal Athletic beat Wisbech Town 4-2 after extra time. Bodmin will face the Midland Alliance League side at Priory Park next Saturday in the fifth round of the FA Carlsberg Vase.
Lowly Bovey could take plenty of positives from their performance against the title favourites despite going two goals down to efforts from Sam Matthews and Shane Krac.
Bovey reduced the arrears five minutes into the second half through Hayden Roe but Bodmin restored their two-goal cushion through Adam Carter.

Bovey had Jared Lewington sent off but the ten men hit back, with Jamie Micklewright converting a penalty given for a handball which saw Tom Chambers sent off.
The Moorlanders' chance of a comeback were dashed two minutes from time when Carter notched his second of the afternoon from the spot.
Plymouth Parkway lost ground on Bodmin after they could only draw 2-2 at home to Torpoint Athletic despite parading new striker Lewis Coombes.
Coombes did not score and it was down to Parkway's top scorer Ryan Richards to notch both of their goals, with Torpoint twice coming from behind through Shane White and Paul Baker.
Elburton Villa drew level on points with Parkway after their 4-2 victory at Pennygillam over a Launceston side who dropped to fourth.
Villa's hero was striker Levi Landricombe, who hit all four of their goals, but Villa will have to do without their 22-goal striker, who is unavailable for the next three weeks.
Launceston's scorer was Sam Davey, who netted both of their goals.
Luke Weldhen hit a hat-trick and Danny Brook notched twice alongside Matt David's header as Newquay thrashed Liskeard Athletic 6-0.
St Blazey bounced back from their 4-0 defeat by Elburton as goals from George Swain, John Hoyles and Seb Broomfield saw them win 3-1 at Cullompton Rangers, who replied through Ash Donohue.
Liverton United's run of fine form continued. Their 4-0 victory over Saltash United was their third on the trot in which they have scored 23 goals.
Saturday's victory saw Stefan Chubb, Stuart Bowker (penalty), Frazer Clark and Jordan Lamm scoring the south Devon outfit's goals.
