“Although I have never worked in respect of education I have seen so much of this in engineering, and with safety critical equipment, that the use of bogus qualifications in this case is making "A Song and a Dance" about something that happens all the time.

In the autumn of 1993 there was a fuss made in Aberdeen regarding an officer on the council who had claimed falacious qualifications and was doing a great job in that council. Some said it made the concept of academic results at Uni as being rather superficial or superfluous and perhaps even unneccesary!

Since then I have observed in the world of "Academia" how political battles have resulted in University lecturers digging up the PhD dissertations of their colleagues, and running it through anti plagiarising detection software in order to get the respective PhD removed and thus ensure their dear colleague gets the sack. Nothing to do with wanting their job of course.

In the oil industry there has been numerous cases of companies discovering the graduate having industrial experience employed via. staff agencies were not graduates, and then asking the agency for the return of money for the difference from employing a technician rather than a proper engineer. The fact that the difference was never noted during employment perhaps demonstrates the incompetence in this particular industry and/or does it matter anyway?

I strongly expect the simple fact this women evaded detection for so long may have upset more than a few egos in the establisments concerned, and perhaps made them feel their jobs were so uncomplicated they never did require a degee type person in any case?

Indeed, I have strongly pursued the technical interviewing for staffs in any industry or establishment since one finds out far more about the real person and their abilities than the possession of a bit of paper. Do those in this educational field of work have any idea how easy it is to obtain a very good forgery from SE Asia, and whats more even take the identity of someone who has been to the all important university if one has a common last name or can changes ones name? What newly formed planet do those shouting out justice reside on one must ask?

Sadly, those who can really interview future staffs to assess real abilities have become less and less perhaps because image has become more important than substance in the UK when selecting future employees.

Although I believe that this person should have been kicked out the concept that she wrecked the lifes of students is most debatable, and we should by asking in that case what were those who are supposed to check up on such matters doing? Improving their image in the HR department may be the real answer.”

“This is an awful shame for those poor pupils that have had their futures affected by her. If she had done the same thing before, how on Earth was she allowed to do it again? Do schools and exam boards no longer check qualifications along with a persons past history?”

“so what has happened to those children whose lives have been affected by this surely the question needs to be asked as to why she was in the school for so long before she was found out? how was this allowed to happen? If the crb check had been done when she started at the school why was she not arrested till October?”
