Bovey lose semi and final off last ball on bizarre day!
BOVEY Tracey had a bizarre day at Sidmouth in the regional finals of the ECB Indoor Competition.
Having gone through as South Devon representatives after winning the Ashmoor Indoor League, Bovey lost off the last ball of their semi-final game against Roborough, who knocked off 66 to win.
Roborough went on to beat Clyst Hydon in the county final for the right to play against Somerset champs Sampford Arundell in the regional final.
Competition organisers ruled on the day that Roborough and Clyst Hydon could not represent Devon in the regional final as both had fielded ineligible players!
As Clyst had a walkover into the final, Bovey were invited to represent Devon… and lost on the last ball again.
Ben Elphick hit 27 and Pete Bradley 25 as Bovey totalled 90 for three. Sampford Arundell knocked of the runs for the loss of two wickets.
