Brixham coach Dan Parkes has given his side a reminder there will be tougher tests ahead in National Three South West following the 77-17 win over Amersham & Chiltern.

Tom Goodman helped himself to a try hat-trick as Brixham ran rings around Amersham.

The Fishermen were not quite sure what to expect following promotion into the National League system.

There have been runaway wins over Old Patesians (67-26), Oxford Harlequins (69-8) and now Amersham with only a 19-8 loss at Redingensians in the debit column.

Said Parkes: "Once we start playing the likes of Exmouth, Barnstaple, London Irish and so on I expect there won't be so many 50-60 pointers."

Exmouth tucked in against bottom side Oxford Harlequins to register a 65-12 win which puts them fifth in the table.

The Cockles had the four-try bonus point signed and sealed inside 16 minutes and added seven more before.

"Truthfully, Quins were lucky it wasn't more," said Exmouth's director of rugby Chris Wright. "We had another 20 per cent or so in the tank."

Stuart Lowe, Jack Downie, Tom Elliott and Andrew Powell bagged the first four tries. The rest went to Tom Kill (two), Dave Bargent, Jon Fabian (two), Adam Garner and Powell, who kicked five from 11.

Josh Smith collected two tries in each half in Newton Abbot's 62-21 win at Maidenhead. Ed McGinley bagged two on the wing.

Barnstaple's acting team boss Jeremy Chugg got off the mark with a win as Barum eased to a 35-8 win over Avonmouth Old Boys. Former Devon captain Chugg has taken over while Kevin Squire recovers a broken hip.

Josh Squire, Kevin's son, converted his own try and those by Ryan Carter and Toby Williamson as well as three penalties for 25 points.

Taunton Titans had a four-try bonus point and not a lot else to show for their efforts from a 32-23 defeat at Shelford in National Two South.

Titans led 20-13 at half time – Jake Childs, Jemba Bull, Mike Pope and Jack Claydon the try scorers – but were undone in the second half. All they could manage after the break was a Gary Kingdom penalty.
