Bucks out of bowl tie
FOOTBALL: Buckland Athletic have withdrawn from the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League's Charity Bowl, due to a clash with their commitments in the Toolstation Western League.
Bucks were due to face Bodmin Town in the traditional curtain-raiser on Sunday, August 5, at Callington Town AFC.
But the Western League held their AGM last week and confirmed that the opening fixtures of 2012-13 will be held on Saturday, August 4.
With the match usually being played between league winners and cup winners, South West Peninsula League secretary Phil Hiscox said officers have looked instead to Throgmorton Cup semi-finalists to take part.
