designed to give Carers time off from their caring responsibilities and offers

a tailored, flexible service.

"This is an exciting new service

designed by Carers for Carers", said Jackie Milan, Carers Services Co-ordinator

for Crossroads Care.

"Everybody needs a break from time to

time, but if you're caring for someone who is frail, disabled or in poor health

it can be extremely difficult to get away".

Individual support and advice is now

being given to look at options to decide what a break from caring

means.  The focus is on what Carers want, helping them to look after

themselves.  A tailored package is then designed and arranged for their

individual needs.

The charge depends on the specific

kind of service required and is calculated on a no-obligation basis.

Crossroads Care work closely with

their partner, Guinness Care and Support who have a dedicated and skilled

team of staff who have undergone specific Carer awareness training.

Alternatively, Carers may choose to use their regular domiciliary care

agency.
