TEIGNMOUTH'S Trinity School is celebrating an 'outstanding' verdict by an independent school watchdog.

The Independent Schools Inspectorate has just published the reports of Boarding and Early Years Foundation Stage inspections at the school.

It is the third time they have got the award in eight years.

The Early Years report was exceptional, the school being graded as 'Outstanding' in all respects, with two minor recommendations.

The boarding report was an interim report, and indicates whether the school has moved forward since their last visit.

It confirmed Trinity has continued to improve since its 2010 Ofsted Outstanding inspection.

The school's record with inspections in the last three years has been strong.

Headmaster Tim Waters said: "With recent inspections by both ISI and Ofsted rating the School as Outstanding, the school has successfully demonstrated its determination to deliver the best education possible for the pupils in its care. It only remains for me to congratulate the staff at all levels in the school who worked so hard to make such an outcome possible and to thank them for the huge amount of work that has gone in over the past few years."
