Champagne on ice after student bash
TORBAY'S 5-1 victory over University A in Plymouth, coupled with Okehampton being held to a draw by Chard, means that Torbay can clinch the Southern Two title at home this weekend.
A four point gap has opened up and, with only two games to go, the champagne is on ice!
The students had by far the better of the first half, yet Torbay turned round 3-0 to the good!
The back three of Eddie Brown, John Veale and Simon Jones had to be on their mettle, especially in the first twenty minutes.

Chris Linton saved well from a short corner and Brown cleared an effort off the line.
Matt Clark converted a short corner on 25 minutes which appeared to deflate the Plymouth side.
Matt Dixey exchanged passes with Jamie Walsh and Ben Collins before rounding the keeper to score.
Torbay were awarded a short corner as the half time whistle blew. All ten outfield players moved up to the circle, as soon as the ball cleared the 25 yard line it would signify half time.
Clark engineered an opening for Jon Veale. His shot flew like a tracer bullet into the bottom corner of the goal.
Torbay were able to call on the experience of former captain Ian Murphy in the second half, his first appearance after a year in Australia.
An attacking midfield of Clark, Murphy and Jamie Walsh was a formidable sight at Premier Two level, so was always going to prove effective here. Only wayward finishing and brave goalkeeping kept the score down.
Murphy notched the fourth from open play, before the students pulled one back. Dixey scored the fifth with a sublime flick over the onrushing keeper to conclude the scoring.
Torbay host Truro B at 2.15 on Saturday. If the opportunity to clinch the title on home turf wasn't incentive enough, Truro have been the only side to beat Torbay this season, winning 3-1 in Cornwall before Christmas.
A MID-MORNING start did not agree with the 2nd XI who lost 3-0 at Isca C.
The game was played on the water-based pitch at Exeter University to add to Isca's 'home advantage'.
Isca led 1-0 at the break, with Torbay battling hard but being restricted to half chances.
Two goals midway through the half killed off the game. Torbay's best effort was from a Kai Horsburgh short corner which hit the outside of the post. The 2nd XI are at home to Bridgwater A at 3.45 on Saturday.
