CHELSTON'S cricketers are going to try a whole new ball game this season… all in a worthwhile cause.

Club members have been supporting nearby Rowcroft Hospice as their charity for the last couple of years. Recently, a cheque for more than £1,300 was handed over to hospice managers.

Instead of right-arm over the cricketers will be encouraged to try some underarm tactics at an indoor bowling competition being held at the Torquay United Bowling Club.

Entries are being invited for teams of four. There are trophies for the winners.

Once the bowling is out of the way the action switches to neighbouring Number 10s restaurant for a race night and buffet.

The date for your diaries is Sunday, May 16 from 4pm onwards.

Contact Mark Faulkner on 07884 118900 to sign up for all or part of the day. The full experience is £10 a head. To go for the meal and race night will cost £6 for adults and £3 for children under 12.
