PAIGNTON coach Charlie Mahon will have his fingers crossed for a break in the weather when his side visit North Petherton this Saturday.

The Cherries have already suffered three postponements this season – last Saturday they should have entertained North Dorset in the latest of them – and blank dates are filling up.

As Paignton are lagging down among the relegation worriers in South West One, the last thing they want is to be under game pressure when their rivals aren't.

"During this phase of the season there are a few Saturdays off which allow players to recharge their batteries between matches," said Mahon.

"Every game is going to be like a cup final for us from now on, with all the pressure that entails, but unlike most of the teams around us we won't be getting the R-and-R time."
