Children's chance to learn magic
MAGICIAN John Francis is planning to run children's workshops.
The Torquay member of the Devon Magic Circle is a close-up magician who specialises in card and coin magic.

He says young people are increasingly interested in learning about magic because of the popularity of shows like ITV's Penn and Teller: Fool Us.
John (pictured) has been fascinated with magic since the age of six, when he first saw Paul Daniels on the television.

He said: "I am completely self-taught. Because I am dyslexic I learn by watching and re-watching until I get it.
"As a member of the Magic Circle I'm allowed to teach but not to give away secrets.
"There is a real interest among young people because there are lots of magic shows on television at the moment.
"If we get enough interest we hope to be able to open up a Junior Magic Circle. At the moment you have to be 16 to audition.
"My magic tends to be different from everybody else because I am dyslexic so I don't read instructions. I just see it a couple of times and usually just know how it's done."
Anybody aged eight to 16 who is interested in attending workshops can contact John on 07400 446 884.
