FORE Street in Brixham remained closed on Wednesday morning after gale force winds brought a chimney crashing down.

Firefighters were called on Tuesday night after the chimney stack tumbled down on to a roof.

One appliance from Brixham and the Bronto aerial platform from Torquay were on the scene at 9pm.

A spokesman said: "The chimney stack was partially made safe by fire crews before the incident was left with the council."

Police also attended.
