AUDIENCES are in for a treat from Torbay's largest community choir, the Big Noise Chorus, as the group raises funds for Rowcroft Hospice at a concert on Saturday night.

Now in its third year, BNC has already established a reputation of rocking the house with very high quality singing, appealing to all tastes.

The choir's back catalogue includes full harmony arrangements from Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody to Leonard Cohen's Alleluia; from Motown favourites to Pink, and from the Beatles to Christina Perri.

The choir currently has 130 members and a waiting list of more than 50.

Carol Brace, the choir's events manager, said: "Our choir master, Colin Rea, brings us the joy and passion of singing, but equally, we exist to serve the communities from which we all come.

"Every concert we mount is to benefit a particular charity. To date we have collectively raised more than £25,000 for various causes."

The winter concert this year, Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, backs Rowcroft Hospice.

The choir will also be joined on the evening by the children from Park School, Dartington.

The venue for Saturday's concert is St Matthias Church in Wellswood, Torquay, and the starting time is 7.30pm.

Tickets can be bought in advance from the Rowcroft shops in Wellswood and St Marychurch or at the door on the night. Accompanied children under 16 are free.
