Classical duo get Flavel's series of concerts underway
THE first recital in the Flavel's 2013 Classical Series takes place at the Dartmouth venue tomorrow.
Under the title Clarinet Classics, Timothy Orpen (pictured below), clarinet, and John Reid, piano, will perform pieces by Finzi, Stravinsky, Schumann and Brahms.

Timothy and John are both critically acclaimed musicians and have been playing together for more than 10 years.
Timothy has performed as a soloist across Europe, as well as with many of the UK's leading orchestras and chamber ensembles and is currently co-principal clarinet of the London Chamber Orchestra.

John is an outstanding chamber musician, accompanist, soloist and exponent of new music.
He has performed with numerous major artists, chamber groups and orchestras in the UK and abroad and has also recorded extensively for BBC Radio 3.
