BOVEY Tracey A warmed up for a crack at Sidmouth at the Devon Indoor Cricket Finals with a 57-run win over Cockington in their last Newton Abbot League game.

Peter Bradley's team had already won the nine-club competition before the final round of fixtures and were presented with the league trophy before play began.

Bradley top scored with 45 and there were not-out knocks of 25 each from Simon Newton and Ben Ayres as Bovey amassed 174 without losing a wicket.

Cockington 117 for five in reply with Jono Colgate (49) and Gavin Colgate (26no) taking the batting honours.

Ashburton A, who shadowed Bovey Tracey from start to finish, walloped Stokeinteignhead by 147 runs to be 100 per cent certain of finishing second.

Tom Durman made a top score of 56 for the Ashes and Ashley Harvey had 51 not out. Harvey then moped up three Stoke wickets for 10 runs as the Villagers were skittled out for 68.

Kingsbridge's 164 for three – Dan Hardy striking 45 not out – was too many for Ashburton B, who ran out of time at 122 for five.

Chris Clayton (41no) and Daniel Newton (34no) set Bovey Tracey B on course for a 59-run win over Kingskerswell. Vivek Kulkarni's three for 35 helped.

If Bovey beat Sidmouth they will face Cornwood in the Devon final. The play-offs are scheduled for Sunday in the Devon Cricket Centre at Exeter University.

The Devon winners will go on to play the Cornwall winners, also in Exeter, to determine who will represent the far West at the regional finals in Taunton later this month.

The national semi-finals and final are due to be played at Lord's on March 12.
