Jake Madelin was next up for Heart of Devon with a strong performance in the early rounds but failed to build on the promising earlier part of the bout and resulting in getting on the wrong end of judges cards.
Finishing off the promising first evening for the club was 19-year-old female novice boxer Jo Hollingworth who went out with all guns blazing against the 26-year-old Jenny Elwood.
