I READ in the

Herald Express

last week that a local ju-jitsu club had attained the Clubmark award for its junior membership.

Congratulations to them on their achievement. The same is available through the Angling Development Board for angling clubs and associations.

So what is Sport England's Clubmark? It's a cross-sport accreditation for sports clubs with junior sections in recognition of being a quality club, and of good practice in clubs working with children and young people.

Clubmark for Angling is the Angling Development Board's accreditation scheme for clubs.

It is a national recognition of clubs that demonstrate they are working towards high standards in the angling environment they provide, as well as working with county sports partnerships and local authorities.

A Clubmark for Angling status means clubs will be more able to gain access to additional funding opportunities, and sends a clear message to parents that the needs of children have been thoroughly considered and addressed.

For further information on this scheme, contact ADB development officer Julian Taylor on 07855 963128 or visit www.anglingtrust.net.
