Cockington Court Creative has space available for 3D craft workers in the Seachange studios which were purpose built through the £2.85m regeneration project to form a creative centre.

The studios are supplied with sinks, metered electricity and biomass heating and have generous northern lights in the roof. They are open space studios with wide glass doors so that visitors can watch crafts being made on site.

All 3D craftspeople are invited to apply – practitioners in sculpture, textiles, fashion, mosaic, ceramics, basketry and green woodwork will be particularly welcome to add variety to the existing craft workers at Cockington. Temporary, project led studio lets may be considered.

Centre Director, Marissa Wakefield said: “We are looking for quality crafts workers who will add value to the wealth of talent already in-situ at Cockington Court. The centre is going from strength to strength with new as a creative hub providing visitors with an opportunity to watch crafts people at work and buy unique hand made goods directly from them.

“Cockington Court is set in 450 acres of award winning parkland with ornamental and organic gardens, stableyard, tearooms and a medieval church, adjacent to one of England’s most densely thatched villages. The centre attracts around 100,000 visitors a year and its popularity is growing through the number of events taking places throughout the year. By taking up a Seachange studio at Cockington, craft workers can be part of Torbay’s emerging profile as a creative centre.

Details and application forms are available from Cockington Centre Director, Marissa Wakefield on 01803 607 230 or marissa.wakefield@tedcltd.com The deadline for applications is 9am Monday 24 September; and interviews for selected applicants will take place on 11 October at Cockington Court.
