Collector's son helps to create calendar using port postcards
OLD postcards of Brixham have been used to create a new calendar.
The Friends of Brixham Library created the 2013 calendars thanks to postcards from David James' collection.
Mr James was an avid old postcard collector but died this year. His widow has given the Brixham library the go-ahead to scan in her husband's collection and use some of them to create calendars.
One of those is made up of pictures of vintage steam trains, cars, buses and boats and was launched at the Steam Rally last month where almost 50 people ordered them. The calendars are limited to a print run of 80.

Jake, Mr James' son, was at Fishstock taking further orders of the special calendar.
Another calendar using Mr James' old postcards has been created by the Friends of Shoalstone Pool to raise funds for the open air sea water pool. It shows the development of the pool over the past 100 years.
The Shoalstone calendar, again with a limited edition print run, will be on sale at the Brixham Christmas Fair in November.
Both calendars cost £5 and have been produced in memory of Mr James.
