College to use hall estate accommodation
STUDENT accommodation on the Dartington Hall Estate is to be used by South Devon College students because of a rise in numbers in Paignton.
Dartington Hall Trust's chief executive Vaughan Lindsay said the college was doing so well it had enjoyed a rise in its number of students but does not have the space while Dartington has enough space to share.
He said the trust has offered to help the college and put its 72 bedrooms at the college's disposal.
The South Devon College students are expected to move in this term.

He said: "We're helping them out. It is a temporary arrangement for a year first which can be extended to two to three years."
Mr Lindsay said the arrangement was beneficial to the two organisations.
He added: "The buildings are a bit tired. They were built in the 60s. Students want on-suite facilities these days but these student accommodations don't have that.
"But the college is happy with it.
"For us we're renting the space, keeping education on the estate and encouraging young people at Dartington."
Mr Lindsay said the buildings would eventually be upgraded but there was no firm plan as to when or how much nor what the upgrade could entail.
