TOTNES craft shop boss Dave Dommett has won a top business award.

His craft shop, Finishing Touches, took second place in the Craft Shop of the Year for the South of England competition run through the Crafts Beautiful magazine.

Dave also runs craft workshops at his Brutus Centre business.

He said: "We are so excited to be given the runner-up certificate for the best independent craft shop for the South of England.

"The award was unexpected and came as a complete surprise.

"We were contacted by Crafts Beautiful and asked to come to the trade craft show in Birmingham to receive our award.

"We would like to thank all our fantastic customers for voting for us and my staff and I are so pleased to accept the accolade."
