THREE fire crews were tackling a house fire in Paignton's Winner Hill on Monday morning.

The road was cordoned off as firefighters dealt with a blaze in the basement of a three-storey terraced property used as private flats.

Four hosereels were used to extinguish the flames.

A fire investigation officer was also called to the scene after the alarm was raised at 7.50am.

Four sets of breathing gear were used.
