WHEN we decided that we wanted to change our lives and career in 2009, we looked at many different options including purchasing a business in our native Northumberland but also considered Spain, Brighton and the Lake District. We were new to running a hotel but had been involved in hospitality and customer services for over 20 years.
However, we remembered how much we liked Torquay and visited again in 2010 and were once again enamoured with this splendid part of the country.
Torquay is a wonderful place to live, we like nothing more than being able to step out the front door and walk to the beach, the town centre or the South West Coast path, there are so many wonderful places to visit, all made better by the fact that most days here on the English Riviera are blessed with decent weather!
We looked at many properties in Torquay and settled on Cranborne as it gave us the opportunity to put our own stamp on a guest house and do things the way that we wanted, we spent a considerable sum of money on Cranborne to raise it to its current Visit Britain 4-star standard and have achieved many superb recommendations and awards.

Torquay has the benefit of the Riviera International Conference Centre that holds events all year round and the Princess Theatre attracting excellent shows and artists which is generating visitors to the area throughout the year.
