Dance supplies firm's ball for charity
INTERNATIONAL Dance Supplies' inaugural charity of the year ball raised £7,200 for Cornish rapid relief charity ShelterBox.
The Newton Abbot mail order company said the glittering event was such a success it's going to hold another one.
The ball, held at The Lavender House Hotel in Ashburton, was attended by businesses and clients from all over the UK. The evening featured a drinks reception, a five-course dinner, an illusionist, an auction and raffle, live music from One Foot in the Groove and a talk from ShelterBox representative David Glover.
Ball organiser Toni Kemble said: "Every year the team at IDS select a different charity to support, and this year they chose ShelterBox.
"With everything from dress-up days to market stalls, the team at IDS take their fundraising seriously, but this is the first time they organised a ball. After its success, it won't be our last."
Since the firm has been supporting ShelterBox it has raised a whopping £11,200.
ShelterBox UK general manager Tim Bunting said: "We are incredibly grateful for the support of International Dance Supplies. Their support is helping families who have lost everything after a disaster to rebuild their lives."
Thanking everyone involved and paying tribute to those who had donated auction and raffle prizes IDS chief executive Anne Walker said: "It was a fabulous evening for a very worthwhile cause, and we are so grateful for the generosity of everyone here, we've surpassed even our highest expectations."
