Dart Totnes trio go Stateside

DART Totnes went Stateside as they were represented at the 45th Head of the Charles Regatta in the USA.

It is the world's largest two-day regatta attracting more than 8,500 rowers and 300,000 spectators to the banks of the Charles River.

Sculling in the Grand-Master single sculls for men over 50 were Peter Rouse and Gary Cairns.

Rouse finished 39th in his category in 21:58.775 and Cairns finished 43rd in the same category in 22:10.878.

The category winner was Michael Stolper of Undine Barge Club in 19:53.660.

Also competing from the Dart Totnes was club captain Suzanne Hutchings who joined a Molesey ladies' eight to compete in the Master eights for women over 40.

They finished 16th in category in 19:13.323, more than two minutes behind category winners Toronto Sculling Club who finished in 17:36.001.
