Dartmoor missing man search stood down after seven hours
VOLUNTEER rescuers searched for seven hours on Dartmoor yesterday after reports of a 'high risk' missing man.
The members of the Ashburton branch of the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team began their search in the Bovey Tracey area at 3pm.
Volunteers were joined by police and a Sea King helicopter from RAF Chivenor in North Devon.
A spokesman for the team said: "After seven hours of searching the River Bovey, fields and woodland, the team was stood down around 10.20pm.
