At Dartmouth Academy the only way is Ethics...
Dartmouth Academy has seen a 100 per cent A*-C pass rate in its first ever Ethics exams. The exams were taken by a Year 10 group under the tutelage of Steff Morby and Lisa Print - and have seen all the students achieve A*- C grades.
“I’m really proud of my whole class,” said Miss Morby, who joined Dartmouth Academy in September 2011. “We have seen the group grow in confidence and really embrace the subject, so we were confident they would do well when we put them in for modular exams in their Year 10. They have all done so well, I’m incredibly proud of them and they are all brimming with confidence as they go into their final year of GCSEs.”
Polly Bailey, Rebecca Trezise, Isabella Lane, Alysa O’Connor and Emily Hammill all achieved high grades in Ethics and they were over the moon. They all took a number of subjects modularly and achieved great grades, setting them up for next year.
“I’m really pleased – I’ve enjoyed the course so far and I’m looking forward to the new academic year,” said Emily.
Isabella said: “I think it’s great to do modular courses: it gives you great confidence as you get the different results through and this inspires you to work harder and do better.”
Rebecca said: “I’m delighted - now we’ve all got good results it is going to give us extra confidence and belief we can achieve more in the rest of our GCSEs.”
Dartmouth Academy Principal Nick Hindmarsh said: “It’s great to see our Year 10 students excel in these exams. It’s a sign of the improvements we are making. We are supporting our learners in so many ways, helping them to achieve their full potential. Well done to them!”
