First Dawlish Triathlon has up to 200 entrants
HIGH demand for the first Dawlish Triathlon, to be held on September 30, at Dawlish Warren, has forced organisers to increase numbers from 150 participants to 200.
"This is now set at the maximum that we can take for our first year," said organiser, Bob Bowen.
"We thought we would struggle to get people to take part and now we are increasing our numbers to 200.
"Next year we will have to look at running the event over a couple of groups so that we can accommodate everyone. We have had entrants from Europe so this now could be classed as an International Triathlon."

Dawlish Triathlon is a sprint triathlon event starting with a 750 metre sea swim, followed by a 20k bike ride from Dawlish Warren to Exminster and back and culminating in a 5k run.
The organisers are looking for volunteer marshals, who can contact Braking Wind Cycles in Park Road, Dawlish, or put their names down on the sheet at the Dawlish Tourist Information Centre.
TEIGNBRIDGE Trotter Peter Blakesley completed in the Olympic distance Bath Triathlon on Sunday. Battling against strong wind and rain he completed all three disciplines in three hours and seven minutes, just one minute shy of his personal best.
