Day for men to take a back seat
IT'S that day again, the day when men take a back seat and let the stronger sex (at least in our house) take charge, which they invariably do with great success.
In other words I have been asked to give a mention to the Women's World Day of Prayer which will be celebrated in many churches throughout Devon on Friday.
One of the largest attendances will undoubtedly be at Central Church in Torquay where the service will be followed by a Lent lunch.
This year the service has been prepared by women from Cameroon in West Africa and has the theme Let Everything That Has Breath Praise God.
There will be a talk by Christine Chant and her daughter-in-law Rachel who visited Cameroon in 2004.
Men are also very welcome it is emphasised, so long as they stay in the background and don't try to interfere.
As if they would dare!
