Delphin is Torbay's first cruise visitor of the year
TORBAY welcomed its first cruise liner for more than a year when the German vessel Delphin arrived off Torquay.
She was the first of three cruise liners scheduled to call in Torquay this year, with the Prinsendam due on August 20 and the Artania on September 16.

The Delphin was on a 13-day cruise around the UK and Ireland, having started in Kiel and visited Scotland, Ireland and Falmouth before coming to Torbay.
Four coaches took passengers on excursions and after seven hours moored off Torquay she left for Dover.

The ship was built in Finland in 1975 as the Russian cruise ferry Belorusiya and operated around the Black Sea.
In 1986 she was modified to become a cruise ship with 200 cabins for 470 passengers. She carries a crew of 250.
In 1998 she was renamed Delphin by Hansa Cruises and operated for the German market.
In December last year she was take on by a new German company, Passat Cruises.
