Digger causes gas leak in Newton Abbot
Firefighters were called to Teigngrace near Newton Abbot today to deal with a gas leak caused by a digger accidentally cutting a supply pipe.
Crews from Torquay, Bovey Tracey and Newton Abbot attended the incident at Higher Brooks Plantation at about 9.30am.
A road close to the A38 was cordoned off and people at a nearby shop evacuate for safety reasons while the leak was isolated and dealt with by engineers.
