Dive Festival raises £3,200 for Diving Diseases Research Centre

On Saturday 20 October 2012, divers from the Kernow Diving Federation

visited the Diving Diseases Research Centre (DDRC) in Plymouth to present a

of 16-17 June 2012, and attended by some 100 divers from all over SW England.

This is the 10th year the festival has been running and so far a total £16,500

has been raised, with all the monies going to support the work of DDRC. 

Whilst the weather curtailed the diving this year, there was a BBQ party on the

Saturday night, together with a  raffle and an auction, with prizes being

donated by the various clubs attending, together with generous support from AP

Valves, Fourth Element, Mares, Suunto, Nigel and Emma Hodge (Wave Chieftain,

Falmouth diving boat), and Skinners Brewery who helped with the beer.

 

Kernow Diving Federation is made up of the following British

Sub Aqua Club (BSAC) branches in Cornwall and Devon: Budehaven Sub Aqua Club,

Duchy Divers, East Cornwall Divers, Ilfracombe & N Devon Sub Aqua Club, Mid

Cornwall Divers, Newquay & District, Padstow Sub Aqua Club, Peninsula Sub

Aqua Club, Penzance, Plymouth Sound, Tolgus Sub Aqua Club, Totnes BSAC and

Seahawk Sub Aqua Club (RNAS Culdrose). More details of the weekend, and of the

Planning for next year's Dive Festival is already underway

and it will take place over the weekend of 15-16 June 2013.  Totnes BSAC

is a local diving club diving in South Devon and beyond and welcoming new
