Drama groups compete at Teignmouth Carlton Theatre festival
TEIGNMOUTH'S festival for one act plays is back from today, March 21, to March 23.
It will run at the Carlton Theatre in the town and it's a chance to see a variety of drama presented by some of the leading amateur companies in the area.
This festival is competitive in that the winners have the opportunity of going on to the next round of the All England Theatre Festival.
"We have a good number of entries this year, including several youth teams, and we are also pleased to welcome a team from TOADS and a return of most people's favourites, South Brent," said Rodney Bowen, of Teignmouth Drama Festival.

The adjudicator for 2013 is Sandra Wynne, from North Wales. She's been heavily involved in Welsh drama and has experience in both acting and managing theatre companies.
Teignmouth Drama Festival is also celebrating the news that it's been asked to organise the British All Winners Festival for 2013.
It showcases the very best of British amateur theatre in a week-long celebration of theatre and runs from July 7-13.
"We consider this to be a great honour as it is a full national event and has never been held in the west of England before," said Rodney. "We shall be working in conjunction with the National Drama Festivals Association under whose umbrella the festival is run. Any team which has won a qualifying festival in the British Isles in the last 12 months is eligible to be considered for the BAWF."
